Hibiscus Tree: Vertical Color That Transforms a Space

The Hibiscus Tree is a tropical flowering tree known for its large, vibrant blooms and strong vertical presence. With flowers in shades of pink, red, and yellow, it brings consistent color while naturally drawing the eye upward—adding both height and energy to your landscape.

This is one of those plants that does more than just bloom. The elevated canopy creates a clean, tree-form structure, making it perfect for layering with lower plantings or defining space in a more intentional way. Whether used as a patio tree, focal point, or part of a layered garden design, it delivers both color and form in one plant.

What Makes the Hibiscus Tree Special?

Bold Tropical Blooms: Large, eye-catching flowers that deliver strong seasonal color in multiple vibrant shades.
Vertical Interest: Adds height and dimension, helping break up flat landscapes and create a more dynamic layout.
Layering Versatility: Works beautifully above shrubs, grasses, or perennials to build depth in your design.
Multi-Use Plant: Ideal as a patio tree, accent feature, or structured element within garden beds.

Easy to Grow, Easy to Use

The Hibiscus Tree thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, performing best in warm climates where it can maximize bloom production. Its manageable size makes it easy to place, whether in the ground or in containers for patios and outdoor living spaces.

Where It Shines

Creating vertical interest in garden beds and layered landscapes.
Framing patios, entryways, or seating areas with color and structure.
Adding height and definition without overwhelming smaller spaces.

A note from Rachel

This is one I always lean on when a space needs height without getting heavy. It gives you that lifted, finished look, especially when you pair it with lower plantings. The blooms are great, but it’s really how it changes the shape of a space that makes it work.

📋 Planting Directions
1. Planting: Plant your Summer in Paradise Hibiscus in an area with moist, well-draining soil that receives full to partial sun (4 to 6 hours of sunlight daily). Once you've selected your location, dig a hole large enough to accommodate your shrub's root ball. If you're planting in a container, select a pot that's about twice the width of your shrub's shipped container. Use organic soil, place your shrub, and select a sunny spot. If your Hibiscus is container-planted in a colder climate, just bring it inside in the winter when the temperature starts to drop. 2. Watering: Water your Hibiscus once or twice weekly. If you're not sure when to water, check your shrub's soil about 2 or 3 inches down for dryness. 3. Fertilizing: Use a well-balanced fertilizer in the spring to encourage blooming, and follow label instructions. 4. Pruning: Stems die back in colder climates, so cut them to the ground in late fall or early spring. New growth will emerge each spring. Remove spent flowers to keep the plant looking tidy.
